The 'CEECO' marking is an abbreviation for "Communication Equipment & Engineering Corporation" (see trademark).

The CEECO company still exists in Plantation, Florida, manufacturing telephones. Their About page says they have been in business "over 70 years", and the copyright date at the bottom of the page says they started in 1930.

CEECO manufactured black plastic insulators similar in shape to CD 154. Their trademark is for "Telephone Cable Transmission Communication Equipment Of The Outside Cable Plant Type", which the insulators qualify under; apparently this was used from June 1954 until at least January 1975.

Their salesmen's samples were made in unusual colors such as red, as well as a variety of other colors, as shown in Rick Soller's display at the 1999 NIA National show.

The NIA show page says "These black plastic insulators were very tough and may have been used to prevent vandalism."
