Here you will find video clips of hunts in progress. I feel the hunting experience is as rewarding as the insulators themselves. The videos are in wmv format which will
play in Realplayer, Windows Media Player and other players that support the wmv format. A broadband connection is required to download them in a reasonable time although
not essential to play them. I've kept the file sizes below 5MB but I don't want to sacrifice the quality by making them too small.
When I'm up a pole the first thing I do is see if any of the insulators will turn by hand. As you will see they are all stuck to their spindles
but it's made worse because the spindles are turning on the crossarm so the only way of removing one is to saw through the crossarm
As usual the first thing I do is see if any of the insulators are loose. Once again they are solid but as they are on swan necks I'm
able to use the strap as the swan necks can't rotate horizontally. Sometimes even the strap can't unscrew the most stubborn pieces
Here's another pole with swan necks, in fact it's on the same line as the one above. This time I'm able to take both pieces
Sometimes not everything goes to plan. This pole contains a pair of small single groove insulators so I decided to get them. Unfortunately
the one on the right is cracked and the other one refused to come off when I used the strap so these two will stay here
This pole is full of different types of insulators so I reckon I would strip it bare of the good pieces but once again none of them would
move and virtually all of them were on pins that spun round on the crossarm. I managed to get the strap around one but it also began to turn on the crossarm so I left
this pole empty handed too
This page is still in its infancy so I'd welcome comments if you have any troubles viewing the clips.
