Romanian Road Trip
We wanted to see again Transylvania and the sea, we went again. There are beautiful areas, cheap stuff and food, and my relatives. We sit in the car, and go. We visited old transylvanian cities, the Killer-lake (Gyilkosto, Laku-Rosu), Bear-lake (Medveto, Lacu-Ursu), which is the most salted lake in Europe, salt mine, big mountains (Fogarasi Havasok, Muntii Fagaras), the Dracula castle in Torcsvar (Bran), and the Black sea...

WHEN I CLIMB A POLE, I REMOVE THE WIRE FREE USELESS INSULATORS FOR MY COLLECTION, I DON'T HURT THE LIVING PARTS! I DON'T WANT TO MAKE LOSS AND DAMAGE FOR ANYBODY!! I CLIMB MOSTLY DEAD AND ABANDONED POLES! I CLIMB POLES FOR MY OWN RESPONSIBILITY, I AM ELECTRIC ENGINEER!! Zoltan Drinoczi
At the first, we are in Kolozsvár (Klausenburg, Cluj-Napoca), in the central, we went to look the old Hungarian memorials, what survived the foreign (Romanian) rule...(Laszlo, I, Miklos and Moni, Miklos's sister, Szabolcs are tooking the photo)
In a small village Holtmaros (Lunca Muresului) in central Transylvania where live my either relatioves. Their backyard is a railroad with a telephone line. Miklos are climbing onto it to get some CD-446s. The white porcelains are Hungarian Insulators.
Near the sea coast are running a 750 kV line, it is very big, one phase have 9 wires, on this trio tower are 1584 pierces glass suspensions. One chain has 44 pieces, and there are 36 chains... And I didn't count the Insulators on the lightning protector wires.. Gigantical.
We rode on the road, we found a lying pole, we looked it and we won :-)
The inflation is interesting.. Romanian banknotes. The count of the lot of zeros are difficult..
Miklos on the pole.
We are on the beach, near the Black sea. We were in a camping. (I, Szabolcs, Miklos with an Insulator and Laszlo, the driver :-)
Our thent. I put up the index :-) We had great time there, there are big life, cheap restaurants, etc. Unfortunately we didn't find place to hunting..
Well, we found intersting stuff.. It is a bunkler from the WW2.. I don't dare think, what would be inside.. The Romanian coast is very dirty eh! Fortunately we found a clean camping.
At the back way we went into Bucharest. No comment! Never next time for me! It has a beautiful main square but the other parts are concrete jungle.
Oh yeah! We yound some climbable poles in the mountains! But I cound not remove these Insulators, because the wires are from hard steel. We could do them from the next poles.
Cute.. We are on the Foraras, on the tallest mountains in Transylvania. We stopped to stroke donkeys :-)
Interesting gas pipe on a gasoline station :-)))) No comment :-)))
A pole in a lake. Rare view..
I found an old pole, and I found under it this! Killer linemen' They broked all! :-(
I am sitting on the border stone. My left part is in Romania, my right part is ih Hungary :-) It is between the two pass check points, that area which are neither countries, there are the good duty free shops, the very cheap cigarettes and drinks.
The Killer-lake (Gyilkosto, Lacu-Rosu). It is a filled up valley with a lake full of trees because of an landslide. Lot of people died here because of these trees under the water, it got this name because of it.
And finally, we are under the Dracula castle. We have been up there, and in the Horrorr market. After it we sit in the Horrorr Pub to drink a beer. There is a ghost castle, than in a theme park. We went in.. huh...
We had very good time there, my friends enjoyed it, and we found Insulators.
