The Adventure
Fratisek came here at Saturday afternoon, he carryed for me some Insulators: Deltas, small ones, T-bar, nose porcelain ones, and lot of interesting things (I will take then in the calagouge.). At the afternoon we went to the closed railway station of Szedres. We found an old power poles near the hous. We climbed them. And came the owner. I talked thin him. Fe was very funny, and he helped wit us. Gived extra tools and informations. He way very friendly. Fratisek climbed poles, got Insulators and crossarms. He can climb all type (wood, concrete, steel...) poles without tools. He climbed on the railway station's wall, and get a very old and rare Insulators from 1870. It is chip, but I have one. It is Merklin Czech one.
At next day ve went to romania. It was interesting with :-) and with :-(
We are on the border station of Nagylak. We waited hal hour, and went across it. We found a pole with cut wires, we climbed it, and came there two person by car. They took off, and said something in romaninan. I said: " DO YOU SPEAK HUNGARIAN?" No... "DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?" No... "DO YOU SPEAK GERMAN????" No... It was interesting. The romanian is mixed laguage fom the German, English, French, Italian, Spanis... I uderstanded some things: they said "thief, thief, call police!!" " Take back the Insulators!!!" Fratisek said, we will call the police!
We took back the rare and old CD-408s and went out.
We was in Arad, I said: I forgot there my camera near the pole. We will go back there, and find it. Go we ti hunting. OK.
We found lot of free poles near the road and behind trees and bushes. Nobody can distrub we. Frantisek cimbed the pools, and got lot of common CD-408s and CD-445, side pins, and an crossarm. We went back.
We stopped near the first pole. I wet to the pole, the two persom came with big rod. He went to Fratisek with the rod to strike, he take his big spanner to protect himself. I run there, and the person came to me with the rod. He shout to me, I said: "My camera is there, I forgot there." He didn't understand it, me didn't too. He striked me very heavy. I said: "Come on!!!!" He did understand it. We went to the pole. I found my camera and I said: Look it!!!!!! Good beye!!!! Stupid primitive romanians..... They didn't undersand our hobby, and seaking each other. Very primitive thing the scuffle. Fratisek's car was full of Insulators and has one crossam. We went to the border. We had some problem there. There the border guarders were not interested in the Insulators, they understood it. But the car was truck because of the traffic car license. I had to work paper works, and Fratisek had to pay 17 Euros. (???).
We went home to sleep.
Next day we went to the electric provider to ask Insulators, we got lot of ones. The provides helped to us, he gived me a dump address in Pecs. We went to Pecs. Fe found the dump, and got some Insulators. After it we went to the factory of Zsolnay. We talked with them, we looked the new Insulators. Came the boss, and said: "What we doing here?" the employed said: "Look we out, and I can give to you some Insulators" The boss said: "NO!" Because the new Insulators have other marks. It is factory secret. Nobody don't know so who is the buyer in Egland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Rep., ....
We didn't have lucky.
After it we went to hunting to the railway. We found lot of Insulators with green band, and crossarms. After it we went home to sleep.
Next day we went to Budapest to the Furukawa composit Insulator factory. They were very friendly. We looked the factory, Insulator manufacturing and others. We got two ones and catalougs. It was very interesting. After it we went to Czech Rep.
The car was full of Insulators, crossarms. The Slovakian border guarder asked: what are these ones, it is not possible the carring, it is much merchandise. I talhed with tim across 20 minutes, I showed photos. Came the boss: talk, talk, show photos from the collection... They bored it, and said: Go out!! We went across the border. The next border the Czech guarder visit the Insulators, look the photos, and he said: Go. It was fast without problem.
I have been in Fratisek's house. I wisited his collection. It is gigantic. After it I went in a motelto sleep. At next day I visit again the gigantic collection. He has 5000 catalogued Insulators, and 10000 non catalogued ones. His house is an old electric mill. 4 floors, 5 rooms, cellar, machine house, garden full of Insulators transformers, hardweres, switches, poles. Everywere! I can not write it. He has own transformer poles, big oil transformers, old distributor wardrobe, varistors, old telephone centers, everything. 15000 Insulators in one place... GIGANTICAL collection. I said to him: You should open a museum! The garden is full of suspensons, big rods... Than a transformer station. My all of rispect is his for the collection. I get some Insulators, rare and old ones too. At evening we went to Praha and I went home by train. I cound not sleep on it, because when the controller asked my ticket, or where the border guarder asked my passport...I went home. I am home, and I am in big cleanig work. I way very tired. I have now 550 Insulators.
Fratisek gave me lot of informaion, mark, and others. The understanding with each other was very difficult. He can not speak English, and he mixed the English and German laguage.
It was interesting trips. I found lot of Inslators which I didn't have, and Fratisek carried home about 200 founded Insulators.
From this time I very don't like the agressive people, and the borders..........
